Dr. Jay Allison, - family physician at O'Neill Family Practice, recently passed an intensive written exam for board certification by the American Board of Family Practice (ABFP). The ABFP mandates this exam to insure doctors are keeping current on recent advances in medicine. The all-day exam tests a physician's knowledge of pediatrics, internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, psychiatry, preventative medicine and other areas of family practice.
Dr. Allison has cared for families in the Holt County area for more than eight years. Besides caring for family members of all ages, Dr. Allison also enjoys tropical medicine and medical ministry in and outside of the U.S. He has pursued additional training in tropical medicine, an asset for the recent West Nile outbreak and for international travelers. Anyone traveling abroad can contact Dr. Allison for information regarding necessary immunizations. Dr. Allison is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Dr. Barbara Gutshall, - graduated with her doctorate in Internal Medicine. Dr. Gutshall enjoys the challenges in medicine. She is a native Nebraskan, with ties in the rural area. Her primary focus is care and treatment of adults, maintaining a rapport with her patients and trying to keep them healthy with informed care.

Janet Fletcher
Janet Fletcher - has been a member of our team since 1978. Janet earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is a member of professional associations and participates in community activities relating to health. Janet Fletcher is a first assistant in surgery and also cares for patients in one of our satellite clinics.
Welcome to Dr. Preston Renshaw - along with his wife Nicole, a recent addition to the physical therapy department at Avera St. Anthony Hospital in O'Neill, Nebraska. As a family practice physician at OFP, Dr. Renshaw will treat the whole family from obstetrics to geriatrics and use his unique training in osteopathy. "This training provides more treatment options for patients with large muscle issues, back pain and large joint conditions. Dr. Renshaw has a special interest in sports medicine which springs from his background of college football and a touch of professional football, playing on the Kansas City Chief's practice team for one year.
The Renshaws have 3 children, Zachary age 8, Jaime age 5 and Benjamin age 3. They enjoys sports, runnings, reading and spending time with their children and yellow Lab pup, Zoe.

Shelly Herrington
Shelly Herrington - is an advanced practice registered nurse who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of women's healthcare issues and treatment of the whole family. Through special training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, she received two Masters of Science in Nursing degrees in Women's Health and Family.
Shelly was born and raised in Bassett, Nebraska. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Creighton University in Omaha in 2001, nurse practitioner in Women's Healthcare in 2004 and as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2005. Shelly is board certified in both Women's Healthcare and Family.
Shelly is married and lives on a ranch south of Atkinson.
Sharon Spencer - received her MSN in Family Nursing/Nurse Practitioner degree in 1990. She has been involved in healthcare since 1982. Her training has encompassed all areas, included rural health, health promotion and maintenance, community involvement and family casework.

Dr. Winkelbauer
Dr. Matthew Winkelbauer - the Winkelbauer family are enjoying the slower pace where familiar faces return a wave on Main Street and neighbors know each other well. The Winkelbauers got to know O'Neill on weekends when Dr. Winkelbauer worked in Avera St. Anthony's Emergency Room. Both Winkelbauer's are Nebraska natives, with Erika growing up in Wisner, and Matthew in Coleridge. "I've always wanted to practice in a smaller town," Dr. Winkelbauer said. "I have a great appreciation for the medical technology in Omaha, but for raising family - nothing beats a town like O'Neill. Dr. Winkelbauer is a certified family physician who cares for the whole family.
